Dry cleaning is a method of washing clothes using special solvents instead of water. It is a method designed to protect delicate fabrics or clothes that are vulnerable to water, rather than using water and detergent like a regular washing machine.
The dry cleaning process is roughly as follows:
Inspection and preparation of clothes: Check and treat stains, damage, etc. on clothes. Also, take out items in pockets and check for buttons that may fall off in advance.
Washing: Place clothes in a dry cleaning machine and wash them using a solvent such as ‘SYSTEMK4’. This solvent is gentler on fabrics than water, but effectively removes stains and contaminants.
Rinsing and drying: After washing, the solvent is removed and the clothes are dried. Most of the solvent is recovered and reused during this process.
Ironing and finishing: The dried clothes are ironed to remove wrinkles, and are then sent to the customer after a final inspection.
Dry cleaning is especially useful for delicate fabrics, clothes with many decorations, and clothes that are prone to shrinkage or color fading. If your clothes might be damaged by washing them in water, dry cleaning may be a good alternative.
